Operating System Research Center
The Operating System Research Center (OSRC) was founded in April 2006. It is a global AMD Research organisation with a headquarter in Dresden, Germany. OSRC employees are located in various locations worldwide, including Dresden, Germany and Austin, Texas in the US. This structure allows AMD to more effectively and rapidly serve the needs of customers and partners, by placing the right engineering resources within closer proximity.
The OSRC is acting as a bridge between the OS development community and the worldwide AMD processor design community and plays an increasing role in ensuring next-generation AMD products and solutions enable the most advanced OS and application features. We are specialized in OS virtualization, memory management, multi-core scheduling and performance measuring to make better use of future multi-core architectures.
